Hornets secure playoff spot; Broncs fight to stay alive

Despite losing 28-14 to Tongue River last Friday, the Pine Bluffs Hornets secured a spot in the 1A playoffs. The Hornets were hindered without running back Ruger Lewis, who did not play due to a lower body injury and is questionable for this Friday.

"We fought hard," said head coach Will Gray. "(We) made a few mistakes but this group of kids will fight back and correct them."

With Lewis out, the Hornets relied on Kyle Steger to run the ball, totaling 110 yards on 26 carries. Quarterback Haize Fornstrom ran the ball five times for 13 yards.
