Voters make their choice

Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee said voter turnout was heavy and consistent throughout the day with wait times varying from 30 to 60 minutes.

After all the posturing and politicing, the 2016 election season has come to a close and the unofficial results are in.

On the national scene, Republican Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton, earning 66 percent of the vote. In the battle for U.S. Representative, Republican Liz Cheney easily defeated Democrat challenger Ryan Greene with 64 percent of the vote.

In statewide races, Republican Anthony Bouchard squeaked by Kym Zwonitzer by just a 31-vote margin for the District 8 state senate seat.
