Senators charge DoE with ignoring the law

 


Less than a year ago, Congress passed a historic education bill known as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). That bill took educational control away from the federal government and gave it back to the states. Congress passed it with overwhelming bipartisan support, but a group of senators believe the Department of Education is actively ignoring the law as written.
