Laramie or bust: Hornets prep for title showdown

The Hornets came away with a 19-13 win in the semi-final round of the Wyoming 1A playoffs and will play Tongue River this Saturday in Laramie for the title.

The last time the Pine Bluffs High School football team played in a state championship game, none of the current players were alive, so this Saturday is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Hornets. Pine Bluffs has played for the title three previous times, the last in 1994 – they have never come out the victor. But 2016 is shaping up to be the year of championships in Pine Bluffs, so who's to say this isn't the football team's year. After taking down Rocky Mountain in the 1A quarterfinals on Oct. 28 and then handing Upton-Sundance their first loss of the season last Friday...
