One of the competitions held in the Prostart classes at the Pine Bluffs High School is decorating cupcakes. Students can come up with what design they choose, but must use fondant on the cupcakes. The staff at the high school are asked to judge the cupcakes and winning were the hamburgers, pictured rear center.
One of the most popular classes at the Pine Bluffs High School brings together creativity and fun as well as the chance to learn lifelong kitchen skills.
According to Pine Bluffs High School Family and Consumer Science Teacher Nicole Horrocks, her class is called Prostart because it stands for "where the pros start". "Prostart is a National Restaurant Association curriculum training students to be culinary professionals in the restaurant field," she explained.
