The season starts this Friday for the Burns-Pine Bluffs wrestling team as they take part in the Charlie Lake Invitational at Cheyenne East Friday and Saturday. Head coach Dan Clayson says returning experience on the squad will be inportant to getting off to a good start.

"We are looking forward to this season. We have a great mix of returning starters and new freshman. Isaac Ronning (126) and Ruger Lewis (160) are returning state placers. Kestrel Medina (138), Roman Delgado (182), Harley Miller (285), Jeff Langlois (145), and Lash Branigan (170) are all returning state qualifiers. The early part of our schedule will test us, because we wrestle a lot of bigger schools.

Clayson expects the team to be competitive on both team and individual levels.

"Moorcroft will be the team to beat in the East Regional," said Clayson. "Southeast will be the team to beat in the SEWAC. If we can stay healthy and continue improving we will be in a good position at the end of the season."
