Thompson sets single-game points record vs. Kimball

Unbeaten Hornets roll past Longhorns, Broncs and Tigers

Pine Bluffs senior Hunter Thompson (center) hangs onto the rim after slamming home two points against the Kimball Longhorns last Tuesday. Thompson scored 43 points on the night, setting a new single-game scoring record for Pine Bluffs with 43, beating the previous total of 38 set by Duane Gilbert in 1993.

The Pine Bluffs Hornets scored 86 points against the Kimball Longhorns on Tuesday, Feb. 7; half of those were scored by senior Hunter Thompson, who single-handedly outscored the entire Longhorn team, who only netted 41 on the night.

Thompson's 43 points also set the single-game scoring record for Pine Bluffs, breaking the former record of 38 set by Duane Gilbert in 1993.

"Hunter played at a very high level," said head coach Will Gray. "He was able to set the school's single-game scoring record of 43 points. The previous record was held by Duane Gilbert of 38 points. I think the most impres...
