Pawnee FFA week kicks off Feb. 27

Celebrating the Future Farmers of America (FFA) week February 27 through March 3 is the Grover, Colo. chapter from the agricultural education program at Pawnee High School.

The students, along with their advisor, Alex Sanders, will begin their celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 28 with the Annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, where the students will serve breakfast to, and thank their teachers for all they have done throughout the year.

The following day, Wednesday, March 1 is Official Dress Day, when chapter members dress in the traditional blue corduroy jackets with the corn gold emblem.

Thursday, March 2, is Greenhand Day where new members will be awarded the Greenhand degree for knowing and being able to explain the FFA colors, FFA salute, FFA motto, for having a passing grade in the previous grading period and continuing to be earning a passing grade in agricultural education courses, scoring 75 percent or higher on their FFA test, know the history of the organization, be able to describe the FFA emblem and its symbols, amongst other requirements.

The chapter will then cap off the week with Game Night that same evening.
