Albin News

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoping down the bunny trail. Easter is on its way. That should mean the tulips and other bulb flowers will color our town shortly. But with all the sugar and chocolate consumed in the next week, none of us may care what colors we see. Or perhaps, even if the wind blows the bulbs back to Holland.

Kicking or should we say hoping off the Easter weekend is the Albin Community Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. There will be five age divisions along with concession stand lunches available. Plan your weekend to start with all your friends and neighbors at the community center.

The area schools will be on vacation Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17. However, the soccer field will be lively in Albin with a home game starting at 4:30 p.m. Stop by and cheer on your Wildcats. The games always need volunteer refs. Please contact the community center if you are interested in helping out this season or even for one game. Any help is welcome.

Easter season birthdays are always fun. Michelle Childers and Karissa Malm celebrate the day after Easter this year, April 17. Hogan Allen will be through his Easter candy by his birthday April 20, and ready to dive into his cake. Happy birthday to any “bunnies” we may have hopped over.

The Town of Albin is still in need of a maintenance worker. If you know of someone who might be interested or perhaps you would like more information, contact the town hall. They have applications and can explain all the aspects of the position.

It may seem like May 2 is a while out, but just like every other date on the calendar, it will be here quicker than a bunny nose twitch. Remember to come out and vote for our town council positions at the community center. And make a point to get to a polling booth in Burns, Pine Bluffs or Cheyenne to vote on the sixth penny projects for Albin and all of Laramie County. We cannot improve our community without this money and these projects. And that only happens with your vote. For any information on voting locations or what the projects are, contact the town hall.

Happy Easter to one and all. May the renewed hope of the season bless you daily.
