100 YEARS AGO

April 12, 1917

On Monday afternoon, one of the most enjoyable parties of the season was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Karlstrum in honor of Miss Elaine Karlstrum, who had then reached the first milestone of her life.

A large birthday cake, with one lighted candle, adorned the center of the table. All the children were seated around the table for the refreshments, which consisted of two kinds of cake, ice cream and candy. Little Elaine received many beautiful and useful gifts.
