Palms named Albin Day grand marshals

Grand Marshals for the upcoming Albin Day, July 8, are long-time Albin residents Charles Wayne "Chuck" and Pat Netherton Palm.
Chuck was born in Kimball, Neb. in 1931 but has lived on the family farm all of his life. According to Pat, Chuck's "claim to fame," is that he has only moved about 50 feet in his life, from his parent's home to the Palm's current home.
"Not many people can say that in this day and age," Pat said.
Chuck's grandfather, John, who was 100 per cent Swedish, came to the area in 1894 and bought out the homestead that the family has lived on since 1896. The family name wa...
