On the firing line of the Pine Bluffs Sportsman's Club are, from top to bottom, John Wise, Katie Jo Blankenship, Rick "Sleepy" Jamharian and Katie Jo's father, Joe Blankenship. The four were at the club for the Project Appleseed Shoot held Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13. Wise is the Commander of the Donald Eisenhauer American Legion Post 60. The remaining three are instructors-in-training for Project Appleseed. The quartet are shooting at Redcoat targets. Thirteen shots for the Thirteen original colonies.
The Project Appleseed Shoot held over the weekend at the Pine Bluffs Sportsman's Club was a disappointment in terms of the number of shooters who made the trip to the bluffs.
In the past as many as 23 shooters have taken part in the event, while at other times 12 to 14 have come for the instruction and history lessons that are very much apart of the Appleseed shoots.
Rick "Sleepy" Jamharian, who is an instructor-in-training for the organization, stated that he never seen such a low turnout in all the times he has taken part.
