Hornets earn third-place at state

Ishmael DePaullite competes at the Wyoming High School State Track and Field Meet in Casper over the weekend. The Hornets placed third overall.

The Pine Bluffs Hornets capped off an impressive year with a third-place finish at the Wyoming High School State Track and FIeld Meet in Casper over the weekend.

Lovell won the title with Pine Bluffs narrowly finishing behind Big Horn.

Head Coach Dustin Lee said it's difficult to compete against Lovell at the state level given they're the largest 2A school in the state.

In addition to contributing to a third-place overall finish, Tucker Norman won state in the discus throw with a a distance of 148-06.

Norman beat teammate James Merryfield, who earned second-place with a throw of 141-00....
