Donald and Vernida Anderson named Albin Day grand marshals

 


Donald Anderson has called the Albin area home since 1929.

Saturday, along with his wife, Vernida, he will take part in the annual Albin Day parade as grand marshal.

“He has deep roots here,” Vernida said. “I guess that’s why they asked us to be grand marshals.”

Donald and Vernida married in 1988 after their previous spouses passed away. They met through mutual friends, said Vernida.

Donald has been a farmer in the area all of his life.

Vernida taught school in Colorado before moving to LaGrange and teaching there for several decades.
