Pheasants Forever youth hunt planned for Nov. 10

Hunting is becoming a lost tradition, says High Plains Pheasants Forever Chapter President Dean Bowman.

But it doesn’t have to be that way, he said. By getting people involved at a young age, the tradition can be kept alive for generations to come.

Enter the annual Pheasants Forever Youth Hunt.

For about 15 years, the High Plains Pheasants Forever Chapter, based in Pine Bluffs, has taken area youths on what is likely their first hunting experience.

This year’s hunt is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. at the Silver Wings Hunting Preserve near LaGrange.
