Hornets fall to Upton/Sundance

October 18, 2018

The Pine Bluffs Hornets found themselves in unfamiliar territory Friday night as they wrapped up their road game at Upton/Sundance High School: They’re in the midst of a losing streak.

The Hornets have dropped their last three contests beginning with a homecoming state championship rematch against Big Horn.

Losses in Burns and now Upton/Sundance have slowed the team’s strong season.

Pine Bluffs dropped the Upton Sundance game 35-14.

This week, they will host Niobrara County (Lusk).

Last week, Isaiah Montanes took the ball 22 times for 140 yards on the ground.

Brian Steger took the ball 10 times for 42 yards.

James Merryfield was given three opportunities, one of which he took into the end zone.

On the passing side of the ball, Andrew Fornstrom caught one pass for 37 yards.

Colby Lamb also had a catch for 46 yards.

Donte Jacobsen threw seven passes for 131 yards and one touchdown.

Kickoff Friday night is at 7 p.m.
