Pumpkin to Puree

Thanksgiving is just days away and many of us will be making pumpkin pies as part of our traditional meal. What better way to make the ultimate fresh pumpkin pie that to process your own fresh puree? I remember when I first attempted to do make pumpkin puree, I was under the impression that you only had to cook the pumpkin by steaming, boiling baking or roasting. If I remember I peeled the pumpkin, cut the flesh into chunks, then boiled the chunks until tender, like you boil potatoes.
