A Pine Bluffs Police officer was recognized last week for her efforts in thwarting a kidnapping that took place in Pine Bluffs.

On Oct. 4, police received a report that 2-year-old girl was being held from her biological mother, Pine Bluffs Police Chief Justin Trout said.

"The other party had no intention of giving up the child," Trout said.

That's where PBPD Officer Amy Quick stepped in.

Trout said Quick was able to "ping" the phone of the suspect and locate him in Fort Collins.
