"From there to here,

From here to there,

Funny things are

everywhere"

In honor of Dr. Seuss, an icon for children's literature, Carpenter Elementary hosted many reading events for Read Across America.

Throughout the week, the small school shared stories with elementary students from seven different states through video calls. This has totaled 20 different elementary schools from 14 different states, over the last two years. Their goal is to reach all 50 states!

Carpenter students were also entertained by the Pine Bluffs Jr/Sr High drama students, as they performed some famous children's books to the school and spread the joys of reading.

To end the week, students and their families participated in "Lights Out Reading". The students all relaxed in the gym with the lights off and enjoyed some reading time using flashlights.

It was a fun-filled week that accomplished the goal of spreading the love of books!
