Grass fire quickly extinguished on County Road 220

The Laramie County Fire District #6 responded to a fire on the 5700 block of county road 220 on Thursday, April 4th at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon. While working on a farm truck, the grass underneath caught fire and quickly spread to a swather, a smaller truck, and burned about an acre of grass and trees. There were no injuries reported and the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes. Fire Chief Derek Walls credited the owners saying, “Property owners had done a good job of keeping grass mowed in the area which helped slow the fires progress.” Laramie...
