MM1 George Hanson

After nearly 80 years, Wyoming can put to final rest United States Navy Machinist's Mate First Class George Hanson.

Hanson was aboard the U.S.S. Oklahoma, a battleship stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii when it fell under attack during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, WWII.

He was born March 8, 1909 in Milton Pennsylvania, and moved to Laramie,Wyoming with his mother, Beulah in 1916.

School records show Hanson in the Laramie School System through nineth grade. He left school and went to work for Union Pacific.
