Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 at Pine Bluffs

Several of our residents braved much warmer temperatures and an almost three and a half hour delay to get a glimpse of the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 as it rolled into Pine Bluffs on Monday.

Marking the 150 year anniversary of the Transcontinental railroad, the 4014 began its journey in Cheyenne where it experienced a several hour delay due to a broken spring. Not to be deterred, however, the citizens of Pine patiently waited and were finally granted payoff when the Big Boy steamed in at about a quarter after one.
