A Presidential proclamation in 1922 started the annual Fire Prevention Week. Along with the month of October being recognized as Fire Prevention Month, Fire Prevention Week has been used to promote fire safety at home, at work, and in our communities. The week is also a time to reflect on those firefighters and first responders that gave their lives in the selfless act of helping others. In Pine Bluffs these men and women work on a volunteer basis, giving up their personal time to come to the aide of others when needed.
