Above: Pine Bluffs Senior girls rejoice in some of the fleeting moments that they get to spend with each other on the Volleyball court.

This past weekend the Pine Bluffs volleyball team went to the 2A state championship. The girls had a pretty outstanding season winning a handful of tournaments including regionals. They ended their regular season as number one in the state for 2A. The girl's first game was against Rocky Mountain, the number 4 seed. It was a fight from the start and the first set ended at 21 to 25, Rocky Mountain. Then Pine came back with a promising next set win, but sadly the game went in five sets and the girls had a very close loss in the 5th set 13 to 15. After that the girls went on to play Tongue River, they started out a little rough but went to 4 sets and came out on top! This win lead them to move on to play Wright to determine who would play for the 3rd and 4th place against Glenrock. We have had some challenges with playing Wright, they are a very scrappy team. We started out strong, but in the end the girls lost in 5 sets.

This years team was full of talent and amazing chemistry, given, most of the girls were seniors. These girls have played together most of their lives and they had fun doing it, the season may not have ended the way they wanted it to but they should be proud of themselves and their teammates! We are all proud of you Lady Hornets!
