In Honor of D-Day

D-Day June 6, 1944

The war in Europe was raging. It had been going on violently since 1939. The turn of the war would come about in 1944 with the landing on the beach of Normandy, France. This would give us D-Day.

June 6, would be forever on the books as D-Day. It was a day when many young men from the Allied Forces would embark on a journey, they could never had imagined.

There were a total of five beaches where the landings would take place on Normandy. They were: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches. These landing sites were chosen for their range of air cover and the close proximity to Great Britain....
