For 244 years we, as a nation, have celebrated our independence from the British. Across the country there is fireworks, parades and celebrations.

As history tells us of the resolution by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia..."Resolved: That these Unitied Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States, that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britian is and ought to be, totally dissolved."1
