Police maintain services while economizing

The Pine Bluffs Police Department is keeping its costs down while maintaining coverage of the community through steps to economize, such as relying on part-time officers, Chief Chance Walkama said Monday.

Walkama, speaking during the Pine Bluffs Town Council, said while budget cuts have had an impact on the department, community members probably won’t notice a difference in service.

“I don’t think it will be things that people will be able to see,” he said.
