"I felt it was my calling!" said Vernon A. Kitchen of his military service.
Kitchen comes from a military background. His father, Richard C. Kitchen served in the U. S. Army and is a Korean War veteran.
He was born to Richard and Kathy S. Kitchen in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on January 14, 1963.
Kitchen attended Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1980.
"I graduated, and headed to the recruiter. I knew what I had to do, and was ready to make that commitment." Kitchen stated with conviction,
