Shooting, casting practice on tag for 'Family Fun Day'
August 13, 2020
A day of fun on the range, a little casting practice and some lunch are all on the agenda later this month as the Bowman family hosts Family Fun Day at the Bowman Shooting Range.
The free annual event, sponsored by the Bowmans and others, features hands-on target practice with .22-caliber handguns and rifles, shotguns and bows and arrows, said B.J. Bowman.
“There’s something for everyone,” she said. “Kids or adults, we’ll take them all. We have as many adults come and shoot as we do kids.”
The Aug. 22 event, which also features paintball competitions, is sponsored by the Bowmans, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Muley Foundation, 4-H Shooting Sports, Pheasants Forever and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
The idea behind the event is to just give both experienced and inexperienced shooters an opportunity to try out the range.
“If you’re a first-time shooter, that’s awesome,” Bowman said.
Firearms and ammunition will be provided, along with archery equipment and a lunch, she added.
For casting practice, hoops will be laid in the grass and aspiring anglers will try to get their casts to land in the hoops.
