Wyatt Day Wins 'All-Around' At Youth Rodeo

Two first-place finishes at the Pine Bluffs Trail Days Youth Rodeo earned cowboy Wyatt Day "all-around" honors among senior boys for the annual event.

Day finished first during the Aug. 1 rodeo in tie-down roping and teamed with Kaydence Bartlett to finish first in ribbon roping. Day also finished third in ribbon roping with Ashley Kisicki and third in team roping with Josh Stevens.

The awarding of all-around honors capped a long day of rodeo competition that saw an above-average number of competitors, said Darla Haug, vice chair of the Trail Days Committee.

"It was a little bigger than we normally have," she said. "It went really well. It was long, but everybody had a good time."

Coming in as runner up for senior boys all-around honors was Jaxon Farella, who placed first in senior team roping with Connor Tomas, second in ribbon roping with Kaydence Bartlett and third in tie-down roping.

Ashlyn Henderson picked up two first-place finishes to win all-around honors for senior girls, earning first place in senior pole bending and senior breakaway roping, winning second place in goat tying and fourth place in senior barrel racing.

Runner up for senior girls all-around honors was Kaydence Bartlett. In addition to her first- and second-place finishes in ribbon roping with Day and Farella, she placed second in senior pole bending and breakaway roping.

In other senior girls events, Kaitlynn Idler won for goat tying and Avery Hobbs placed first for barrel racing.

Among junior boys, Juddy Farella's first-place finishes in team roping and goat tying, along with a second-place finish in breakaway roping, earned him all-around honors, while Braxton Burford was runner up with a first-place finish in breakaway roping and second-place honors in goat tying and team roping.

Rylee Griffis was the all-around champion for junior girls, placing first for pole bending and third for goat tying. Runner up was Briley Burford, who won first place for goat tying and fifth for barrel racing.

In other junior girls events, McKenzie Geesen placed first for barrel racing.

Pee-Wee all-around honors went to Kaycee Fleming, who placed second for goat tail tying and pole bending and third in barrel racing. Fleming was followed by Jayton Farella, who placed first in pole bending and barrel racing and sixth in goat tail tying.

In other Pee-Wee events, Keason Gilbert placed first for mutton bustin', Jett Collins won goat tail tying, Roanan Evans won calf riding and Wyatt Turner placed first for steer riding.

Iree Hershey was named the rodeo's Kayle Haun Memorial Champion.
