While Joshua Davis was born in Tulare, California December 4 1975, he does not claim to be a Californian. He spent his early years up to five years of age in California with his parents: Earl Davis, Sharron Conley.

Davis spent most of his high school years in Felts Mills, New York, which is just outside gate 2 of Fort Drum, New York. Most of his friend's parents were military.
