Last Friday the Burns Broncs hosted the Saratoga Panthers at Broncs Gym. The 6-8 Broncs were looking to extend their winnings against the 9-2 Panthers but the Panthers proved to be a bit too much. The Broncs had good performances by Tate Bishop and Austin Barth but it wasn't to be this night and the Broncs fell prey to the Panthers 66-51.

The Panthers hit the Broncs hard in the first quarter scoring twenty three points holding the Broncs to ten points. Both Caden David (Jr) and Jackson Kirkbride (Jr) both hit a three pointer to lead the Broncs. The second quarter was better as the Broncs put up thirteen points. Tate Bishop (Jr) dropped two field goals and two free throws in the quarter. The Broncs could not contain the Panthers offense and they went into the locker room at the half trailing the Panthers 42-23. In the second half the Broncs showed a bit of spark as they were able to slow the Panthers down. The Broncs put up twenty eight points in the second half to the Panthers twenty nine points. In the third quarter Chance Kelly (Sr) hit three field goals and a free throw while Austin Barth (Jr) nailed a three pointer, two field goals and a free throw to lead the team in scoring. Good performances but the Broncs fell to the Panthers 66-51.

Coach Suloff said this about the game. "That was a tough game. That's a really good team we just played. They were state champs last year and they returned most of their team. Regardless of classification they're solid across the board. Number 11 is the best player we played all year. He had twenty eight points on us. We came out flat. Didn't execute the way we believe we can and if you give a good team that confidence early it is hard to climb back into it. They really out rebound us too. Held us on the glass. Its tough to win if you don't win the rebounding battle. We'll keep working. We got a tough game tomorrow. We'll regroup and we'll be fine.

Kirkbride led the team in scoring this game with two three pointers three field goals and two free throws for fourteen points. Both Barth and Bishop added eight points. Barth hit for a three pointer, two field goals and a free throw while Bishop two field goals and four free throws. Chance Kelly added three field goals and a free throw for seven points and Caden David added two 3 pointers for six more. Spencer Smith (Jr) made a field goal and free throw for three more points. Luke Lerwick (Jr) and Cooper Lakin each added a field goal. Isaac Bloom (Jr) made his free throw to round out the scoring.
