The morning of Wednesday, March 31 2021, around 0800 the Pine Bluffs Police Department responded to a report of horses running loose near the rodeo fairgrounds. Upon further investigation the police realized the horses did not escape through their own volition. In fact, it was believed that they were released in an attempt to remove the horses under suspicious circumstances.

"The Pine Bluffs Police Department is investigating the trespassing and attempted felony theft of the horses from the rodeo grounds. A witness observed a white male with dark hair on the property shortly before the incident occurred. Anyone with information of the identification of the individual or Information that leads to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the release of the horses may be eligible for a reward. Depriving the owner of their horses is a serious offense and could have resulted in a more serious offense or injury to others. Thankfully, some of our local citizens noticed the horses roaming free and quickly got them back in the corrals safely. Again, anyone with any tips or leads should please call the Pine Bluffs Police Department, (307)245-3084." stated Police Chief Chance Walkama.
