Local Pine Bluffs resident and powerlifter Refugio Cerenil recently competed in back to back meets these last two weekends. His first powerlifting meet was the 2021 Wyoming open powerlifting competition in Casper on April 10, 2021. The Second was the USDA powerlifting meet in Laramie on April 17 , 2021.

At the 2021 Wyoming open he did really well, he broke his personal record for squats with a 467.5 lb squat. For this meet Cerenil walked away with two new medals. Both were for first place, he won the Masters 1 and the Open under 120k weight class.
