Governor Gordon of Wyoming has proclaimed September 17, 2021 at National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

This day was established in 1979 through a proclamation signed by President Jimmy Carter. From that year forward, every President in office has issued a proclamation commemorating the third Friday of September as National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
