In the early 1950s a young couple living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin were expecting a child. Warren and Barbara Johnson welcomed into this world their son, Douglas "Doug" Johnson.

Johnson would spend his childhood years in Eau Claire and graduate from Altoona High School in Altoona, Wisconsin in 1969.
