Hot Shoes and Dry Sand for Pitchers

On Saturday the Pine Bluffs Trail Days Horseshoe pitching tournament was held at Reher Park. It was a clear blue sky, and the temperature was baking. The stifling temperatures did not deter the enthusiasm on the contestants. There were 28 pitchers comprising 14 teams. Teams were picked at random by the computer. One of the teams was Ryan Graves and Erick Reza. Reza was from Albin and competed in the Albin tournament last month. Another contestant, Joyce Bilson comes up from Garden Plain, Kansas every year for the Trail Days events.
