Some people have no problem with blood and others faint at the sight. Blood is very important to people that have lost a lot of it, and that is why there are blood drives.

Blood drives were started by the Red Cross in 1949 during World War II. The military was in a need of blood for the soldiers and victims of war. As time went by, the demand for blood varies.
