  • Future Bambino?

    Zach Spadt, Pine Bluffs Post|Jun 23, 2016

While playing in a T-Ball game between Grover and Pine Bluffs Wednesday, June 15, Makayla Bassinger from Grover made a similar gesture before taking an at bat. While her hit did not make it out of the infield, she still has a lot of ball left to play....

Saturday was filled with fun, starting with a parade down Main Street featuring tractors, floats and participants young and old. During the day, things kicked off at the rodeo grounds. • Albin News

    Charlene Smith|Jun 23, 2016

We made it past the longest day of the year, now on to the hottest days. For not being known for our high humidity, it sure has been muggy. Just as the sunlight in our days will get less and less, sooner or later, the heat will simmer down. Long days give us a lot more time to get things done. At the council meeting the council members accomplished a lot of tasks. They decided to split the duties of the Community Center director between the existing staff and will not hire additional staff at th...

  • Banner County News

    Barb Cross|Jun 23, 2016

Hello Banner County! Here is hoping you all are doing well and that your summer has been a good one so far. After the huge hail storm last July I was pretty disgusted by the time we finally had the roof replaced and the house re-painted so I let all of the yard work damage sit all winter long. I am almost finished with replacing all of those plants and trees. I still have quite a lot to do and I am still finding glass and other broken pieces where they should not be. Hopefully we will not have...

  • No Till Notes: Managing Water

    Mark Watson|Jun 23, 2016

One of the great attributes of a no till farming system is the ability this type of crop production system provides to manage water. In previous articles I have written about no till farming and managing the moisture Mother Nature provides to produce crops and forage under dry land farming. I feel no till farming practices will allow us to also manage our irrigation water to the best of our abilities and help us conserve this valuable resource. Throughout the state of Nebraska water is becoming...
