Cross Country fights the wind

The Pine Bluffs/Burns Cross Country team had their penultimate race prior to the State today in windy and cold Cheyenne at the Prairie View Golf Course. We are so so close to closing out the season. This is a great group of strong kiddos. We have our biggest Junior High boy class and we have a boys team that is in the mix to place at the State Meet coming up in two weeks.

Our Junior high team will finish up next week in Glenrock. They ran really well despite the weather. We had one JH girl take home hardware with a 14th finish (Anna Siebert with 13:14). All girls made top 50 out of 134 girl runners!! Our JH boys came away with an 8th place finish (Juan Morales). Our boys are anxious for their last meet as well.

JV girls had two girls work hard to be successful. Piper Perez sat out last week with a knee injury and was able to rocket to first place in the JV race with a time of 22:14.

We only had one kiddo run JV boys this week--Nolan is working toward breaking the 30 minute mark and we inch closer and closer each week.

Varsity Girls was a hard fought race. We were running against the wind and against some really strong 3A and 4A teams. Hallie Christofferson 23:24 and Shelby Thurin 23:26 were our top runners in the race. They flip flop meet to meet as to who will be in the top each other. Emily Keiter was right on their heels at 23:45. We are still running with a modified team due to injuries. We are hoping to be healthy in the next couple weeks--Sheridan (State) is so close.
