Strong second half gives Broncs win in Lingle
February 22, 2018
Down 16-23 after two quarters of play in Lingle Friday, the Burns Broncs needed a strong showing to pull off a victory on the basketball court.
And they got it.
The Broncs beat Lingle 47-39 after a slow first half.
“It was a very physical game,” said head coach Sean Patterson. “We were able to gain some composure coming out at halftime. We hit some big 3-pointers in the third quarter and took care of the bail. That allowed us to gain the lead going into the fourth quarter.”
Heading into the third quarter, Burns was down 23-16. However, they managed to hold Lingle to only 4 points in the third quarter and scored 12 of their own.
A 19-12 run in the fourth quarter was enough to seal the deal for the Broncs.
Tyler Norris and Wyatt Ebben were the playmakers for Burns in their final game of the season.
Norris earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Ebben scored 13 points for the Broncs with 9 of those coming from 3-point baskets.
Unfortunately, the Broncs will not see postseason play this year so last week’s game marked the end of their year on the court.
“We were happy to finish the season with a win,” Patterson said. “We wish our seniors nothing but the best of luck.”
