Pine Bluffs Senior Center Board holds annual meeting, new members voted in

Franny Haukap will remain on the Pine Bluffs Senior Center Board.

She will be joined by newcomer Sandy Bruckner.

Bruckner will replace Bert Pace, who decided to step down from the board after his term ends in October.

Charley Vaca, Dema Gilbert, and Ronn Ladd also serve on the board.

The Pine Bluffs Senior Center board directs the facility’s staff and also makes financial decisions.

Other actions taken by the board during the meeting were approving financial reports.

As of August 24, the senior center has $18,056.48 in its checking account.

It has $33,390.15 in the emergency board account.

Currently the senior center has 208 members from Pine Bluffs and the surrounding area.

In order to be a member of the senior center, persons must be 60 years or older or have a spouse who is.

Center warns of chicken pox

Last week, the senior center reported on social media that an employee reported, with a doctor’s note, that he or she had chicken pox.

The employee was in the building for the duration for a week.

Chicken pox develops with 10-21 days after contact with an infected person and is contagious 1-2 days before the infected person shows symptoms.

Those who may have been exposed are encouraged to contact their physician.
