Broncs win rivalry game

Hornets drop heartbreaker to Burns

Members of the Pine Bluffs Hornets football team wait for the next play call during a home game earlier this year. The Hornets fell to Burns in a rivalry game on the road Friday night. They will travel to Upton-Sundance this week.

Each year, the rivalry between Pine Bluffs and Burns on the gridiron can feel as important as a playoff game to those who compete in it.

Last Friday was no different as the Burns Broncs welcome the Pine Bluffs Hornets into town.

Despite playing in different divisions, the schools have historically held a bitter rivalry against each other.

This year, it went to Burns, who took advantage of five Pine Bluffs turnovers.

Stating the obvious, Pine Bluffs Head Coach Will Gray said you can't commit five turnovers and expect to win a game.

"We'll get it fixed," he added.
