The Wyoming State Art Educators Association recently held its 51st Annual Wyoming State Art Symposium. There are thousands of pieces of art from students ranging from 9th to 12th grade from all across the state of Wyoming. The symposium offers the students attending the chance at scholarships pertaining to art and art education, workshops highlighting different art media and techniques and most of all a chance for art students in Wyoming public schooling system to get their work seen, view and appreciate other works of art from around the great state of Wyoming. The students were also privy to workshops held by the community colleges around the state as well as the University of Wyoming. One workshop of which our Pine Bluffs students enrolled in was a wet plating old time photography process and their work is seen below in the top left corner. This year Pine Bluffs High School was honored to have Tucker Norman, Brian Arzola and Jourdaine Cerenil have artwork present at the symposium. Brian Arzola was awarded a Blue Ribbon for his painting and multimedia piece Amor. All in all it was a good year for Pine Bluffs at the State Art Symposium, however the students are eager to get back to work in anticipation of returning next year with more art and determined to improve on their skills!
