The Hornets saw another defeat this past week with their homecoming game against Southeast. The Hornets are struggling with holding on to the ball and their offensive game needs to be shored up in order to move the ball. Southeast reported a total of 242 offensive yards compared to Pine's 148, almost half! With a final score of 17 to 9 the Hornets are working hard, but struggling to find their rhythm.

Donte Jacobsen worked hard and ended up with a total of 148 yards, but couldn't seem to make it to the end zone. With 27 attempts at passing and only 11 completions #14 Jacobsen was struggling to find an open receiver. #9 Michael Shain was able to pick up 21 carries for a total of 45 yards, and #5 Reed Thompson racked up a total of 52 yards.

It's still early in the season, so there is still time for the Hornets to get into their groove, but now is definitely the time. Coach Gray sees the heart in his players, but is hoping to see the skills kick in as well. "We gave up two big plays in the first half and couldn't run the ball. The kids are playing hard, we've just got to put it all together." Stated Gray. We're rooting for you boys here too.
