Enzi introduces amendment aimed at streamlining housing programs

Washington, D.C. – In an effort to make housing programs more efficient and effective, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., introduced an amendment to a Senate appropriations bill that would require certain agencies to review federal housing programs for duplication.
According to the Government Accountability Office, there were more than 160 different housing programs and tools administered by 20 different federal agencies in 2010. Consequently, Enzi said, there is no coordination, goal-setting or accountability.
