It is looked on in awe. It is photographed and used for greeting cards. It can turn a sleepy tree or bush into something beautiful or it can turn a quiet country road into a slippery ice rink. And it can be beautiful and awe inspiring. But it can also be dangerous and deadly. What exactly is this weather phenomenon that can create a thing of beauty and still be deadly.

It is called Hoarfrost. It occurs when the temperature is below freezing (32 degrees) and a surge of moisture comes into the area. Hoarfrost happens when the moisture in the air is cooled so fast that it bypasses the droplet...
