Broncs outdone by Outlaws

January 27, 2022

The 5-8 Burns Broncs were on the stampede losing their last three games. They wanted to turn the table and put a mark in the win column. They traveled to Rawlins to face the 9-1 Outlaws. The Outlaws have been tough on the season but that did not worry the Broncs as they were rested and ready to go. The Outlaws however showed the Broncs why they are 9-1 and beat the Broncs 64-27.

The Broncs offense never seemed to get running on all eight cylinders. They were only able to put up single digit numbers in all four quarters. The defense also had a hard time of it as they let the Outlaws score double digits in all four quarters. In the first quarter the Outlaws scored 17 points holding the Broncs to only 9 points. The second quarter was not much better as the Broncs only put up 4 points. The Outlaws were able to score 17 more points to enter the half leading 34-13. For the Broncs the second half did not get any better. The Broncs could only muster seven points in the third and seven in the fourth for a total of 14 point in the half. The Outlaws put up 14 points in the third and 16 points in the fourth. The Outlaws took the win 64-27.

Jackson Kirkbride hit the only three-pointers for the Broncs, one in the first quarter and one in the third. He was also the teams leading scorer with 9 points. Angel Chavez scored a field goal in the first and second quarters and a pair of free throws in the fourth to add six points on the scoreboard.

Next the Broncs take on the Torrington Trailblazers at home on Saturday.
