April 24-30, 2022, has been designated as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Since 1981, this week has been dedicated to learning about victimization and the effect victimization has on individuals. In a small town, victims are not numbers. They are our family, friends, and members of our community. Often, victims of crime are led to believe that once the criminal justice process is over, then they will have closure.
