Every year Pine Bluffs Recreation plants a tree or two a year around Arbor Day. Pine Bluffs is trying to be a tree town.

The first Arbor Day in America was on April 10, 1872. It was originated by J.Sterling Morton in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Now in Nebraska City there is a farm that grows apple trees to support the day.

Trees are important to the environment. They help with reducing our energy costs, block noise by reducing sound waves, help to reduce stress, reduce effects of climate change, help with food for animals and humans, help clean our air, provide us with oxygen, help clean our...
